Engineer-in-Training | Structural Division

Fuller Group, LLC is seeking structural engineering EITs with 1 to 5 years of experience. Fuller is looking for self-motivated individuals who enjoy challenging projects, working with other engineers in a team environment, and interfacing directly with clients.  

Fuller Group is a growing, medium sized structural engineering and forensics firm that practices in forty-eight states. The firm provides engineering services on a wide variety of commercial and industrial projects. Our commitment to quality and consistency has allowed the company to develop a strong customer base that is asking the firm to grow to meet their clients' needs. Project types include office buildings, schools, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, restaurants, retail, and historic buildings. Construction types include designs in steel, concrete, masonry and wood. 

Reports to

Project Engineer or Principal

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design calculations for wood, concrete, structural steel, and masonry structures
  • Utilize various engineering related computer software (Ram SS, Risa, Adapt, etc.)
  • Review drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and architects and recommend necessary changes (i.e. shop drawing review).
  • Research code issues and coordinate with City, State, and County requirements regarding local code requirements and design criteria. 
  • Research design options and document findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.
  • Conduct field work/surveys.
  • Prepare, or assist in the preparation of: engineering documents, details, schedules or reports as assigned.
  • May attend “kick-off” and design review meetings.
  • Interacts with clients as his or her level of experience progresses.

 Job Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis)
  • Experience with RAM, Risa, Adapt, Enercalc and/or Revit is also a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Passed NCEES EIT Exam

Description of Responsibilities

  • Perform forensic evaluations for residential and commercial facilities and other structures
  • Perform architectural analysis of existing buildings
  • Serve as expert witness and provide construction litigation support
  • Develop proposals for architectural services
  • Design repairs and assist in construction administration
  • Interface with existing and potential clients, including cultivating and maintaining relationships

Position Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience interpreting and applying building code requirements is essential, and candidates will have a willingness to conduct complex research in order to solve problems.

Some travel will be required.
